ventana244 is proud to present 3D of a Decade, stereo-optical installation by Carlton Bright. Since arriving to Brooklyn in 1987, Carlton has documented the events and changing daily life of Williamsburg Brooklyn. The 3-D footage for the installation was created using homemade armatures to pair up various digital cameras. Carlton's armatures and paired cameras have developed and changed as state of the technology has evolved. At ventana244, the viewer can experience the neighborhood in past and present moments of the last decade through a stereo-optical projected environment. This project is: Semi-documentary... semi-historical in its overview but non-narrative in its structure Experimental because stereo-optical is an atypical installation format Community minded because it is in and of the community
